8.) Look at the books I found in my closet! My childhood, right there! MVPs: Where the Wild Things Are, Hop on Pop, and A Day with Wilbur Robinson.

7.) SNOW! Appreciated for one of the only times in my life because I had no need to leave the house and experience it first hand. It’s so pretty!

6.) Today I sake bombed at a restaurant in my town (which had sub-par sushi, ughh…) and then went and played beer pong at someone’s house. It was played on an ironing board. Just to clarify. Yeah…. an ironing board.

5.) Wintry Tale

I spent a large part of this evening at an Applebee’s. Don’t ask why, just know that this is what happens when you are in New Jersey for too long. I obviously asked for some crayons and a kids menu to color on. Because I’m mature. The following is a little Mad-Libs entitled “Wintry Tale” that was included and then filled out from said kids menu. That which is underlined was provided by my companion Alana.

“High up in the snowy butt, there lived a little cheetah named Ke$haKe$ha had super powers, and liked to fly over a glacier while singing Country Grammar (by Nelly) all day long. But on hump days, Ke$ha would eat 17GB stacks of won tons to stay extra warm, which of course made Ke$ha too full to fly. So the greasy animal read 20 million and a half books instead. The end.”

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Quick notes: I know this is the second food related post in a row, it’s not a cope out, just blame it on my love of food and/or being partially stuck in the house today; also the video quality is crap, which drives me nuts, therefore indicating to both you and me that I need a real/good camera and some FCP up on my maxwell the macbook. Whatever, deal.

  • 4.) Tonight I Microwaved a Christmas Themed Chocolate Covered Peep. It was awesome. Being a child that grew up in southern California, bonfires were kinda silly, making smores were understandably rare, so the home-made equivalent (for only children with strong imaginations like me…) was to microwave some marshmellows and add chocolate and graham crackers. Half of the fun, of course, was watching the microwaving itself. If you have not tired this, please take the time to do so, I promise enjoyment. Unless you have no child-like wonder in you…. Anyway, with an abundance of “Peeps” marshmellows in my house, I decided this was a great idea. Especially because these holiday treats were chocolate covered and green on the inside, and I expected they’d provide an awesome show. And, as evidenced by the not-so-great quality video, a great show is what I got. Plus tastiness! Here’s more evidence:

  • 3.) Crazy cheese was given to me as a gift for Christmas from my uncle. Not really sure why he thought this was a good idea for a gift, considering most years his wife (from Wisconsin) simply takes care of the present buying and sending. Nevertheless, my parents and I both received 2 HUGE boxes of cheeses from Wisconsin from him. But he lives in Dallas. And he grew up in Chicago. What to do with several pounds of cheese curds, you ask? Make mac and cheese, silly!

Before I begin, I would just like to clarify that despite being past midnight eastern standard time, and therefore this post should technically be the third day of the blog, this is the weird thing for January 2. As everyone can probably appreicate, sometimes the weirdest part of the day is just before it becomes tomorrow. You know, late night, when stuff gets funky just before midnight. It happens. So this time (and the inevitable next time this happens) I hope you’ll all be understanding. Thanks in advance.
2.) A “The Beatles” action figure and a wizard (probably Merlin, but there’s no way to be sure) were spotted lounging together in the basement of a friend of mine this evening. They seemed like a pretty cute couple, so I gave them a photo shoot worthy of their size. In other words, here’s a picture of them chillin’ on top of a TV. Points for those of you who can figure out which Beatle it is. Apparently he was once part of a “Yellow Submarine” play set. The rest of the band and the sub itself are missing in action.
